Our Logo

The society logo was designed by Mr John Chia Lam San (former Principal Laboratory Officer from Department of Pathology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore) in 1994 during the MSS Logo competition.

Design description: The overlapping discs in various shades represent some of the different types of illumination in microscopy) from dark field to bright field), and in various magnifications. Together they represent the eye which is the most important optical feature in any kind of microscopy work.
